The Wilmington Model Flying Club is sadly losing it's current flying field. The newspaper article can be found on their website: City, county plan new ballpark. Recently, the Star News agreed to an article on the club and it's status.  They came to the field and interviewed a number of people and photographers took lots of pictures. Some good flying was done and they got some really good pictures that we hope are published. Here is the article: Future up in air.

About the Field:

Grass runway is 400 feet long and 60 feet wide

Directions to Field:

Take exit 420-B going north or exit 420 heading south.
Turn right at the next stoplight and go 1/2 mile.
Olsen field is on the left "before" you cross the bridge over I-40.
You will see a small sign on the left side of the road before the overpass.
